Attention: Doulas Aren't Doctors or Midwives; We Just Bring the Funky Birth Magic!

A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. However, it is important to note that a doula is not a medical professional. While doulas possess a wealth of knowledge regarding pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood, they are not qualified to give medical advice or provide any medical procedures. The scope of a doula's practice centers around advocacy, comfort measures, and education, ensuring that their clients are informed and empowered to make their own healthcare decisions. Doulas work collaboratively with healthcare providers to create a supportive environment for the birthing person, but the responsibility of medical care and advice lies solely with the healthcare professionals.
